Opening van de “Allee van Samenwerking” in zusterstad Polen.

Op uitnodiging van de gemeente Konstancin-Jeziorna, de Poolse gemeente waarmee  Leidschendam-Voorburg al 23 jaar een stedenband heeft, zijn enkele leden van de stedenbandwerkgroep aanwezig geweest bij de viering van de Konstancin-Dagen op 15 en 16 juni 2013. De werkgroep was uitgenodigd om aan de inwoners van onze Poolse partnerstad recente informatie te geven over Leidschendam-Voorburg en over de activiteiten van de stedenband. De Konstancin-Dagen zijn vergelijkbaar met de Culturele Markt in Voorburg en de markt t.g.v. de Vlietdagen in Leidschendam.

Deze feestdagen worden georganiseerd in een groot park midden in de gemeente. Verenigingen presenteren hun programma’s, winkeliers staan met kraampjes op de markt om hun producten te verkopen. Deze feestdagen worden afgesloten met een openlucht concert in het Amphitheater in het park.

 

Tijdens deze dagen is met de onthulling van een houten bord in het park een pad geopend met de naam “Allee van Samenwerking Leidschendam-Voorburg * Konstancin-Jeziorna”. Het pad voert door een deel van het bos en gaat verder over vlonders door het rietlandschap met verschillende uitzichtpunten  waar banken staan om te genieten van  de natuur. Met de opening van dit pad wil de gemeente Konstancin-Jeziorna uiting geven aan de waarde die zij hecht aan de samenwerking met Leidschendam-Voorburg. Het bord dat aan het begin van het pad is geplaatst is gemaakt door Marek Lukasik, de kunstenaar heeft het beeld gemaakt, dat bij de Konstancin-Jeziorna vijver naast Leidsenhage staat. De werkgroep heeft als cadeau aan de Poolse partnergemeente een insektenhotel aangeboden dat op een boom langs het pad zal worden geplaatst.

 

De delegatie uit Leidschendam-Voorburg heeft tijdens de Konstancin-Dagen bij het park een informatiestand ingericht. Veel inwoners van onze partner gemeente zijn komen kijken naar de informatie die daar werd gegeven over Leidschendam-Voorburg en over de stedenband activiteiten. De in het Pools vertaalde informatie werd meegenomen naar huis en dankzij verschillende tolken konden alle vragen in het Pools worden beantwoord.

Opening of the “Allee Cooperation” sister city in Poland.

At the invitation of the municipality Konstancin-Jeziorna, the Polish community which Leidschendam-Voorburg has for 23 years. Some members of the working group Leidschendam-Voorburg attended the celebration of the Konstancin-Days on June 15th and 16^th 2013. The members of L-V ware invited to give recent information of Leidschendam-Voorburg on the inhabitants of the Polish partner city. They  shown the activities (sports, culture etc.) of the partnership. The Konstancin-Days are similar to the Cultural Market in Voorburg and the market due to the Vliet-Days in Leidschendam.

The Konstancin-days are organized in a large park in the middle of the town Konstancin. Associations present their programs, retailers stand with stalls on the market to sell their products.

These special days are closed with an outdoor concert at the Amphitheater in the park where famous Polish artists have performed.

 

A carved wooden plaque in the park was opened by the mayor of Konstancin and Johan Kunst. The collaboration of the two citys was honored by a path named “Allee Cooperation Leidschendam-Voorburg * Konstancin-Jeziorna”.

The path leads through a part of the forest and goes on wooden platforms through the reeds landscape with different viewpoints with benches to enjoy nature. With the opening of this path, the municipality Konstancin-Jeziorna expressing the value it attaches to cooperation with Leidschendam-Voorburg. The sign that is placed at the beginning of the path is made by Marek Lukasik. The artist has created a statue that is placed some years ago next to the Konstancin-Jeziorna pond, Leidsenhage. The gift of the working group L-V to the Polish partner municipality was an insect-hotel which can be placed on a tree along the path.

 

The delegation from Leidschendam-Voorburg has set up an information booth at the park during Konstancin-Day. Many residents of our partner community have come to look at the information that was given about Leidschendam-Voorburg and the twinning activities. The information translated into Polish was taken home by the citizens of K-J and all questions could be answered in Polish due to the help of Polish volunteer interpreters.
